| Caught in the act of stealing
a ruby, Thurston pretends to be in Falstro’s home to
seduce him. Breathlessly, she offers herself to him as a distraction.
And, floating in sated bliss afterward, Falstro leaves her
alone. Taking advantage of his absence, Thurston manages to
escape. When Falstro discovers the theft of the valuable family
heirloom, he knows who the culprit is—intimately. With
no knowledge of her identity, he keeps his meager knowledge
from the sheriff, and hires a bow street runner to search
for her. He pursues her with determination…but is it
to recover the stolen property, or for the thief?
