do we do?
Whiskey Creek Press is a royalty-paying traditional publisher of
fiction and non-fiction by outstanding, award-winning authors.
We published our first titles in March, 2003 and we have grown
to include a catalog of over 600 titles representing about 250
authors. We publish in ebook and traditional trade paperback formats,
and maintain two retail websites, our all-genre General Line at
www.whiskeycreekpress.com
and our sensual erotic Torrid Romance Line at www.whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com.
The majority of our titles are published in both ebook and trade
paperback formats. Our ebooks are also available at third party
resellers like Fictionwise, Mobipocket, and Amazon Kindle, and
our trade paperbacks can be purchased at Amazon and through bookstores
special order. The Whiskey Creek Press author contract is for
a three (3) year period for worldwide ebook and trade paperback
rights. Royalty payments to authors are quarterly based on industry
commission standards. As a traditional publisher, Whiskey Creek
Press charges NO fees of any kind to authors for publishing services.
Editorial services, cover art design and production, paperback
set-up fees, and ISBN numbers are provided at absolutely no fee
to our contracted authors.
HOW DO YOU SUBMIT YOUR WORK TO WHISKEY
CREEK PRESS?
Please
provide us with the following three REQUIRED items as your submission
package:
1)
A COVER LETTER outlining your manuscript,
any past publications and experiences as a writer. In the cover
letter, include the word length of your manuscript as well as
a brief synopsis, one to two pages in length. Please summarize
the beginning, middle and end of the story. Show the conflict
and resolution as well as character description. Also include
a one-paragraph synopsis (thumbnail sketch or “blurb”) of the
story line and tell us what motivated you to write this story.
Provide any past publishing history in detail, including books
under contract with other publishers and titles out of print.
2)
A BUSINESS PLAN, typically one page
in length, detailing how you will promote and market your
published manuscript, including any past marketing efforts for
your writing career. Do you have a current author website? If
so, include that, along with any other sites like MySpace, Yahoo,
and so forth that you use to market your works. An active author
website is mandatory for all WCP authors.
3)
THE COMPLETED MANUSCRIPT itself. Do not send
a few chapters. We want the manuscript completed before you submit
to us. Do not mail the manuscript. To preserve the beautiful Cottonwood
trees growing along the banks of Whiskey Creek, we ONLY accept
submissions electronically.
AUTHORS OF EROTIC ROMANCE, WE WANT YOUR SUBMISSION!
Erotic
Romance…what is it? A work that is both romantic and sexually
explicit. Erotic Romance is not pornography. This genre is romance—love
in all its beauty, but without the flowery words to describe body
parts and actions.
Our
Novella length fiction is 20,000 - 35,000 words. Novels in category
length of over 35,000 to 80,000 words are preferred. We will also
consider anthologies.
For
the sake of sensibilities, we request you NOT send manuscripts
that depict human and earth animals in a bestiality setting. No
necrophilia, pedophilia and bodily functions. We are not looking
for manuscripts that degrade and demean any individual or group
of individuals.
Erotica
without romance will not be accepted.
At this time we’re especially interested in seeing more submissions

We have three rating categories for our Torrid Romance:
Sensual romance. The reader will find graphic terms for male
and female anatomy. The love scenes are explicit, but overall
the flavor to the story is more sensual.
Erotic romance. Graphic terms are used and the reader will experience
a heightened erotic experience. These stories may contain material
that some readers find objectionable, such as light bondage, submission,
forced seductions, etc., but the romance is primarily between
one man and one woman.
Erotica. The reader will find explicit sex scenes. Bi-Sexual/lesbian,
bondage, sex toys, multiple partners may be included in this rating,
as well as controversial story elements. But romance is still
the underlying motivator.

OUR CURRENT CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Besides
the general fiction genre submissions we have mentioned above,
we are also calling for submissions for the following specific
publications:
EROTICA IS…TORRID RAW
RAW is our line of ‘simply’
erotica stories. There are no-holds-barred when it comes to sex
and love, in RAW.
While these
stories may contain romantic elements, what they should
contain—besides a great plot—is sex in all its glory. Adventures
in sex—and sexual relationships—is welcome! Push the limits with
BDSM or multiple partners, in genres from contemporary to paranormal,
urban fantasy or horror, suspense, Sci/Fi, or any combination.
Happily
ever after is not required, but a satisfactory resolution to the
story is necessary. There are still some lines we will not
cross, including incest, rape, bestiality (excluding shape-shifters!)
or pedophilia. Also, please remember that our readers are primarily
women who enjoy erotica, but not excessive violence or porn. All
RAW heroes and heroines must be over 18 years old.
Stories
should be between 35,000 and 50,000 words. When you submit, please

Torrid
Teasers is a duo of erotic short stories, by a single author,
and is a series we have been publishing for several years. Please
submit two stories at a time. We're looking for stories in any
genre.
Length:
Each short story submitted should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words.
Please don't submit anything for the Teasers outside those length

TORRID TWISTED TALES - SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Welcome
to the world of Torrid's take on traditional tales - with an erotic
twist! We're looking for new, exciting and erotic ways to tell
old, favorite tales. 25,000 to 60,000 words, preferred. Please,
nothing less than 20,000 words. Do you have a favorite fairy or
folk tale that would have turned out very differently if you had
written it? Well, go ahead! Write it! Then send it to us. These
books can cross genres. The 'main' genre is the fairy tale take
off...but it can contain any other element that fits your story,
and take place in any time period. The stories can be funny, angsty,
dark, paranormal, historical, updated contemporary tales...the
possibilities are endless. Whatever works for the story. It's
completely up to the author.
And
if fairy tales are not your thing, we're always open to submissions
in any erotic romance genre!

The Torrid Special Edition Line Submission Guidelines.
We
started adding the Special Edition “extra long” line of books
in November 2006. These books are more mainstream than our regular
Torrid Romances, with longer stories, intricate plot twists and
grittier elements. The stories can be more controversial, the
romance bumpier and the outcome less ‘happily ever after’. However,
please keep in mind that these are for the Torrid line. That means
we’ll still be looking for a sizzling hot romance, at least as
a sub-plot! You can check out guidelines for our heat levels,
above.
Torrid
Special Editions should be between 80,000 and 100,000 words long.

‘Men of Alaska’ Submission Guidelines.
What
is the appeal of those ‘Alaskan Men’? Why does the term have such
a mystique to it? Could it be because they’re hot, sexy, lonely,
and oh so ready for love…or maybe just some steamy lust? They
say Alaskan men just won’t commit, but maybe they just haven’t
found the right women!
Whiskey
Creek Press Torrid is looking for submissions for our new Series,
Men of Alaska. Manuscripts should be between 30,000 and 60,000
words, and may be contemporary, historical...whatever fits your
